Puggle Breed General Information Puggles are a cross between a purebred Beagle mother and a purebred Pug father. - resulting in a very sweet-tempered, affectionate (but not yippy, hyper, or insecure) pup that is very low-maintenance family-friendly (great with children and other dogs), loose-skinned, wrinkly-faced, endearing in both personality and looks. Both breeds have been long recognized for their loyalty, kindness, intelligence and all around good nature. Well into their adult lives, they exemplify the best of what dogs are all about- loyalty, companionship, and affection; translating into a breed that is very eager to please its owner. Puggles are wonderful with children, other household pets and extremely loyal to their families. They are wonderfully loyal companion pets that only want to please making them the perfect family pet for the family with limited living space. As well, they are durable, hardy dogs that can easily take a bit of rough-housing (boys love them for this.) Girls appreciate their affectionate, lap-loving qualities. Puggles usually get to be 14-20lbs. as adults, are 13-15" high at the shoulder, typically have a curly tail, are tan with a black muzzle or black- earning them the nickname of "miniature mastiffs".
Puggle Colors (white markings may also be present) Fawn Tan Black At OLD CYPRESS we breed for the fawn color, but occasionally have the other colors available.
Puggles are an outstanding family companion -- they love to play, swim, travel, but most of all cuddle! In addition, they are intelligent and beautiful with little maintenance and they do well in the company of other animals (including cats!). One can easily say the Puggle is becoming more popular as families learn of this breed's many wonderful features. |
